Job DescriptionReporting to the university bursar, this position supports the office using excellent judgement and decision making in managing calendars, making travel, meeting and event arrangements, creating spreadsheets and presentations, filing, preparing reports and reconciliations of financial data and customer activities.||Performs work of routine difficulty in the collection, compilation, and verification of financial system needs, data, procedures and regulations that is used to benchmark operations, develop graphs and charts, evaluate operational efficiency and effectiveness, and to design and test process enhancements for accounts receivable, cash receipts, tuition remission, graduate contracts, finance and other systems. ||Provides professional customer service to students, families, sponsors and university constituents in person, by telephone and by email concerning student and university accounts, including billing, scholarships, financial aid, outstanding and credit balances, payment and budget tuition plans. Requires knowledge of policies and procedures across operations of the Bursar's Office and understanding of key student areas such as Financial Aid, Registration, Housing and Dining, Graduate Contracts, and Veterans Services.
Required QualificationsExperience working in a professional office providing customer service;|Experience using general office equipment and computer software such as Word, Excel and Outlook;|Strong analytical skills including the ability to analyze, interpret and explain complex financial transactions;|Excellentcommunication skills; |Strong organizational and time management skills;|Ability to work well under pressure with a high degree of accuracy; |Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment; |Ability to work without close supervision, handle dissimilar tasks and meet deadlines; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with university constituents and departmental employees; and|A.S. or B.S. in accounting, business administration, public administration or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience indicating possession of the preceding knowledge and abilities.
Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of GAAP accounting and practices, and internal controls in modern business operations;|Knowledge of university policies and procedures related to student administration, travel, payroll, human resources and purchasing;|Experience interpreting and explaining university policies and procedures;|Experience utilizing Banner or similar relational database;|Experience managing budgets.
