What happens in the skin consultation

Step 1: your goals or concerns

Our aim is to find out what you love and don’t love about your skin, ifyou have anyparticular skinconcerns and what your skin goals are. Wecombine that information with a full skin examination and assessment,so we can create the right treatment and skincare plan for you.

Step 2: your skin assessment

During your consultation, we’ll remove makeup or products from so wecan fully examine your skin, including assessing the texture, thicknessandcolourwhich could indicate concerns such as acne or pigmentation.Your skin will also be examined under a skin scanner, which can indicateif your skin is healthy, dehydrated, oily, congested or has sun damage.We will takeyourbefore photos, so you can see your progressthroughout your treatment plan.

Step 3: your personalised treatment plan

We’ll then discuss your daily and monthly skincare and treatment planto get the best results for you and your skin. We may recommendanumber ofoptions including chemical peels, microneedling orHydrafacial, and skincare to use at home.Depending on your goals orthe severity of your skin concern, we will refer you to a doctor orspecialist nurse.And if you are interested ininjectablesas a solution tothe signs of ageing, we can also refer you to a doctor or nurse prescribertoo.

To secure an appointment, we will require a deposit. Your credit or debit card details will be secured against your booking. Virtual consultations are free of charge subject to a £25 deposit. In-person consultations are priced at £50. Please refer to our terms and conditions for more information.

What is a skin consultation?

Book a general skin consultation with a specialist nurse or practitioner. Ideal for those with mild to moderate skin concerns including mildacne, congested skin, open pores, pigmentation, dull skin and mild signs of ageing,or for those who are simply just unsure where to start. Your skin will be fullyexamined fora number ofskin concerns, your skin goals will be assessed, and yourpersonalisedtreatment plan will be recommended. If you have more pronouncedskin concerns that require a doctor ordermatologist, we may refer you, and canalso refer you to a nurse prescriber or doctor foranti-ageing injectables.

To secure an appointment, we will require a deposit. Your credit or debit card details will be secured against your booking. For Practitioner or Nurse consultations we take a fully refundable (subject to terms) deposit of £25 and £50 for Doctor led consultations. Please refer to our terms and conditions for more information.

How long does a general skin consultation take?

Your skin consultation lasts around 45-60 minutes. This will allow the practitionerto fully assess your skin and your skin goals, discuss your concerns and create arecommended treatment plan.

How much is a skin consultation?

The consultation is completely free, but we do require a £25 deposit to secure yourconsultation. You won’t be charged if you attend your appointment, or you cancelor move your appointment over 48 hours before your appointment in line with ourcancellation policy.

The cost of your treatment and/or skincare plan will be confirmed during yourconsultation, but treatment can start from £59, depending on your clinic.

Who will do my general skin consultation?

Your consultation will be with one of our experienced specialist nurses orpractitionerswith extensive knowledge of the skin. Should you have a more severeskin concern, they can also refer you into a doctor ordermatologistif you need tosee one. Please note these consultations with a doctor or dermatologist arechargeable and do require a refundable* deposit – please check the consultationprice before booking.We can also refer you to a doctor or nurse prescriber for aninjectablesconsultation if you are concerned about the signs of ageing. Theseconsultations are free, but we do require a refundable* £50 deposit to secure yourbooking. Please check ourterms and conditionsfor more information.

How do I prepare for a skin consultation?

We will ask you to come makeup free, but feel free to bring some with you to put on after the consultation if you wish.

What are common skin care consultation questions?

Our expert skin practitioners will ask a variety of questions which are designed to help them create the best plan of action to tackle your skin concern. For example:

What are your skin concerns?
Is today a good or bad day for your skin?
What is your current skincare routine?
Is there any particular life event that you want your skin concerns to be resolved for?
What are your expectations?
What have you tried already?
Does anything make your skin better or worse?

Can you wear makeup to a skin consultation?

You can wear makeup to your appointment, however, we recommend that you come makeup free so that we can spend the maximum amount of time assessing your skin. We cannot fully examine your skin with makeup on as we need to assess the texture, thickness and colour which could indicate concerns such as acne or sensitivity.

What does a skin analysis include?

Step 1 – We will have a chat with you about everything you don’t love about your skin, whether you have any particular concerns and what your goals are to help us create your personalised plan.

Step 2 – Before photos will be taken, allowing us to track your progress throughout your treatment plan.

Step 3 – Your skin will be examined under a skin scanner * which will indicate if your skin is healthy, dehydrated, oily, congested, sun-damaged etc. Our practitioners will also touch your skin to allow us to assess the texture, thickness and sensitivity of your skin.

Step 4 – Our expert will create a personalised treatment plan for you, which could combine both treatments and an at-home product regime. We may recommend several options including chemical peels, microneedling, laser treatment or Hydrafacial, and skincare to use at home. If you have a more severe concern, such as cystic acne, we will refer you to a doctor. If you are interested in anti-ageing injectables to boost your confidence, we can also refer you to a doctor or nurse prescriber.
